The garden can be a great place to recycle household/pruned items and turn them into something amazing with just a little creative thought and know how. Send us in your ideas it’s good to share….
We’ve received some amazing ideas/gifts from fellow gardeners and visitors to Jardin de la Maison Rose. Gardening doesn’t have to be expensive with a bit of hard work and creative thinking it can take you on a wonderful journey.
I don’t know about you but I feel the garden speaks to me and gives me great ideas, which usually come to me when I’m taking a well earned rest with a coffee.
Take this idea, not a new one agreed but a case of ceasing an opportunity when it arises. A neighbour was pruning some of his trees last autumn. I asked if I help clear the debris as I wanted to use it for a recycling project, he thought it was a great idea as it would save him time and a job of getting rid of it.
A few wheelbarrows later and with a sharp knife to get rid of any excess branches I wove them in between some old oak posts that had been cemented into the ground and made this fence.
My roses love this as it not only shelters them from the wind but also gives them support to grow over. Smiles all ways round wouldn’t you say.
Another recycling idea we were lucky enough to receive on our opening day as a gift, was these 3 handmade bird feeders from a lovely lady Yvonne back in July 2017. These have been made out of porcelain cups and saucers that have been carefully drilled and bolted together – (I’ve been advised that china has a tendency to crack if they get caught by the frost) . A simple chain has been added along with some melted fat and assorted seeds and the birds in our garden just love them. They make a great point of discussion with the rest of our visitors to Jardin de la Maison Rose when enjoying a cream tea in the rose garden.
Last but not least as we’ll be back with some more ideas shortly. Recycled Toilet Paper Rolls As Seedling Pots we all have an endless supply to hand have you tried this idea we’d love to hear your feedback.
Thanks for reading hopefully this has given you a few ideas to use in your garden this year. That’s me signing off for now.
Happy gardening everyone.
